Southwest Montana

Southwest Montana is home to the largest landmass over 10,000 feet in the lower 48. It is home to the Absorka, Beartooth and Crazy Mountain ranges. All within a reasonable proximity to the charming town of Bozeman. This location is littered with jagged peaks, high plateaus and rambunctious canyons. One could spend a week here and easily fall in love. Below you will find the gems that are found hidden underneath the whispering pines. Just be careful, these canyons have some attitude year round.

Beartooth-Absorka and Gallatin Range

    Short description: A short rambunctious canyon that increases with intensity the further you go. This canyon contains a significant hydraulic not for the faint of heart and is often impassible requiring a two rappel emergency exit.

    Short description: A lovely little gem located across from Trinity Falls. This canyon is very mossy and should be descended with the upmost respect for its delicate vegetation.

    Short description: A fast canyon with a fun rooster tail and rain rappel all within a couple feet of a trail. This canyon also gives you 3 different watercourses to choose from for your final rappel, making the repeatability great!

    Short description: A dramatic canyon that overlooks a large valley below. Crossing the Still Water river and no anchors make this canyon difficult and dangerous. Great care should be taken when crossing the river.
