“Our history is a living history, that has throbbed, withstood and survived many centuries of sacrifice. Now it comes forward again with strength. The seeds, dormant for such a long time, break out today with some uncertainty, although they germinate in a world that is at present characterized by confusion and uncertainty.”

- Rigoberta Menchú Tum

All outdoor recreation involves land to participate on, whether that is skiing, climbing, golf, hiking, backpacking, rafting, running and evening canyoning. With that, the land is not just a ski area, it is not just a rock wall, it is not just a gorgeous waterfall. It is culture. Being on it is a privilege that holds a tremendous amount of pain and it is our responsibility to being the process of healing.

This land statement is to not recognize that this sport is participated upon stolen land. This is a given. Instead, this page is to encourage community, growth and healing between a sport that has become colonized and is perpetuated by colonialists and the people that rightfully call this place home.

In accordance to that, we recognize that as society moves into a post-colonialist world, these lands are a place between cultures. More over, so is indigenous culture. This website promises to push the community towards a better relationship between the sport and that of the culturally significant locations and people. We attempt to stay away from culturally significant drainages and locations.

If there is a drainage or location that is culturally significant to any tribe, or if there is outreach opportunities, please reach out via our contact form and we will respond ASAP. We care, and so should this community.
